China’s First Space Station Is Dying

Well, it’s official. This junk is legit. But, don’t take my word for it. CNN covered it for us. Regardless of what they had to say I want to point out just a few simple little things.

Number one: they lost contact with this thing in 2016

And yet, magically… just one day before it is supposed to crash they lock on to it with such precision that they capture its re-entry on camera?

yep

Number two: the graphics are so good, it has to be real.

The graphics are so good, they didn’t even bother adding solar panels to this thing. It’s pretty much the most majestic thing I’ve ever seen.

Number three: climate change – global warming advocates need not apply.

Rocket Launches Damage Ozone Layer, Study Says. Plumes from rocket launches could be the world’s next worrisome emissions, according to a new study that says solid-fuel rockets damage the ozone layer, allowing more harmful solar rays to reach Earth.

Now, when I was a kid the ozone layer was a pretty heavy topic. It was a big factor in the “climate debate“.

With that said, I have a questions regarding this third thing. Why aren’t any of these radical eco-friendly protesters attacking NASA, ESA, or SpaceX? Seems like they would be a relatively large player in the current scheme of things, if you ask me.

Then again, it could just be a scheme.

You’re going to march against Trump, but not against the people that are physically punching holes in the very thing that keeps radiation out?

Seems legit, people. Seems legit.

In conclusion, space is real. I know this because of three things. One, we conveniently find what we can’t find when it’s convenient (if that makes sense). Two, reenactments are very convincing. And three, what Trump inks with a pin is destroying out oxygen… not the giant quarterly hole punch NASA and its sister companies make on the regular.

Whatever… rant over.

Sin’s affect on the weather… wait, what?

I feel that in today’s world the church faith as a whole has been fading. We seem to be taking less and less of the bible literally as time goes on, forcing more and more of scripture into allegory and poetry with each passing generation.

Matthew 8:26-27He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.

The other week on a Wednesday night at church we were going through one of the chapters in 2 Samuel and came to a part about the sins one man and the affect they had on others. We talked about how our sin affects our loved ones, our friends, our spouses… etc. What I noticed apart from the study (which was an amazing study) was that God allowed the famine because of sin. The reason for this famine was a result of the sins of Saul in particular.

2 Samuel 21:1Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David inquired of the Lord. And the Lord answered, “It is because of Saul and his bloodthirsty house, because he killed the Gibeonites.”

Famine

Later in the end of the chapter the famine ends, bringing rain after 3 years once the sins had been brought to justice through some specific means (in this case, the death of Saul’s sons as retribution)Luckily my sins have already been brought to justice through the retribution of Christ.

What I am getting at is this…

Our sins affect more than just ourselves and those around us. Sin also affects the weather. Now, it today’s world of “higher thinking and science” this sounds absurd. But, honestly think on it for just a moment.

The 40 days of rain which caused the flood was a result of sin. The massive balls of rock that fell from the sky in Godom and Gomorrah were a result of sin. Famine was a result of sin. In Revelation, the sun burning hotter to the point of pain is a result of sin. Fire and hail, snow and clouds; Stormy wind… it just goes on and on.

With all of that said, I go back to the first verse I shared in this post. Jesus clearly demonstrates his power over the weather by calming the seas while on a boat. God is really above us. Jesus really is building a place. And he really is coming back down here one day.

Now… who are we kidding, right? I clearly am ignorant.

The answer here is global warming and “climate change“. Sin has nothing to do with it.

Global Warming and the overwhelming impact of sin

So, Sarah and I were talking last night about a few things and the main topic that came up that seemed to overshadow most of the conversation was global warming. The thing however, is that it wasn’t talked about in a way that most people might consider.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I do think that global warming is real when you stop to consider that creating friction on a surface does generate heat. And when the populous becomes too much for the surface of earth, it makes sense that the surface would warm as a result of the activity. Couple that will our need to pollute and the concept of warming makes sense without the need for a collage degree.

However, I propose another suggestion; one that is not new, but rather an emphasis on an older concept. When we look at the old testament of the bible there were quite a few times when sin became so overwhelming that God did something drastic to douse the flames. The flood, Sodom and Gomorra, and the Tower of Babel… just to name a few.

With those in mind one can’t help but consider the current world status of our climate, the devastating weather patterns beginning to emerge, and the growing sins of this world and how they have managed to mirror almost exactly one another. When we consider the world events starting to unfold just in the last 6 months, it is hard to sit back and not scratch your head and realize that it might actually have something to do with our overwhelming acceptance of sin.

But, I want to take it a step further. Our conversation last night also led into what we see currently covered on mainstream news here in the States. And my only question is this; if there is this much happening across the globe, why is it that CNN, FOX, ABC, NBC, and all the other news affiliates like the NY Times seem to only be concerned with what is happening on Trump’s twitter account.

I think the funny thing is that I don’t find that ironic at all. In today’s world that is what is to be expected, I guess.

Anyway, keep being ignorant. Keep on living life without a repentant heart. It totally has nothing to do with the current state of things… I promise.

And who knows… maybe tomorrows update on Trump’s twitter will shape the world as we know it.
