Shots from the Day – New Guy with a Camera

Although I in no way claim to have a clue what I am going with photography, I was happy with the following shots from today’s very short outing with the new camera. I might go back out to a particular spot at sunset, today. Please note that no editing has been done to the photos aside from cropping them together in a single image.

Got a new Camera – Nikon p900

Now, I am not one to generally splurge on things for myself… But, for this item I made an exception. I have been eyeballing the Nikon p900 for close to 7 months now and finally just gave in and got one. I am in no way a photographer, although I do have quite a few friends that do it for a living. No, I just enjoy the art of it. Although I am inexperienced, I am looking forward to tackling this camera and having it on my outings with the family.

For example, this thing would have been great to have at the kite festival this last weekend.

Here is one example of why this camera has gotten my attention.

The Store finally completely updated

face

It has been a really fun project, but all fun things eventually come to an end. Updating the store has been completed. All of the listings on The Store have gotten totally overhauled visually. In the process I also went through and did some updates to the Analytics for the site as well to help boost traffic. And I have to say, I am already seeing a difference.

Here are how some of the photos turned out.

The friend of mine that was very happy to help in this endeavor was my friend from church Mercedes Morgan. She is a professional photographer here in Austin. She does special events, family portraits, weddings, and the like. I definitely recommend checking out some of her stuff. Her skills with the camera are very clean and I am thinking my family will be hitting her up sooner than later for some family photos for the dining room.

Only three more to go

ETSY

I just wanted to post a quick notice, pointing out that the Etsy Store is only 3 followers shy of reaching 2,000. With that, I just wanted to mention to everyone that reads my blog, if you haven’t already… please go check out the store and give it a follow. I think it would be epic if we hit the 2,000 mark this weekend with your help.

In order to become a store follower all you need to do is “favorite” the shop!

Friend from Church drew something new

unnamed

A friend, who’s drawings have been shown on my site before, drew up something new. After having collaborated on it together (me mostly just coloring in her sketch), this is what it turned into.

She is really talented.

I think it would be awesome to see her do something more with it. I am trying to challenge her to start experimenting with inking pins. From there, anything could happen.

NASA and the Conceptual Artist LAB

First things first, I came across this CNET article that suggests that the world’s oldest fossils are something like 3.5 million years old. And of course they take it a step further by tying in NASA and aliens, and bla… bla… bla…

The thing that I took away from that article, however, is the fact that NASA owns up to the fact that part of their budget goes to a “Conceptual Art Lab”. NASA literally has a team that gets paid to draw cartoons.

Hhhmmmm…

So, of course I looked up the lab (linked twice above), and what else can you expect other than dinky little kids art like the following.

If you don’t understand where I am going with this, then I feel sorry for you.

Space is fake and all the “images” we are shown either of or from deep space are all fake, cartoon “Conceptual Art“. And if you don’t believe me, feel free to hunt down some planetary texturing layers online (some of which I have personally traced back to NASA as supposed photos from the Hubble).

What a Joke.

The only way I know best to close out this post is with the following bit of scripture.

Matthew 24:24 – For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
